About My Clients
My clients are typically queer and neurodivergent, and are hoping to develop skills to live in alignment with their identity. I help process the trauma, depression, and anxiety that frequently arises when we live with identities that challenge the binary status quo. I trust that together we can help uncover your existing skills to regulate yourself and thrive in your environment.
My Background and Approach
I approach counseling with curiosity as I support your self-exploration toward better mental health. I believe every person has internal awareness of their identity, values, and goals. My role as therapist is to ask the questions and provide the space to help uncover your authentic, grounded self. My therapy is grounded in harm reduction, trauma-informed practices, and supporting clients in developing self-advocacy. I believe clients hold wisdom about their own experiences, which drives their current needs and goals. I act as a facilitator to help clients uncover and enhance their existing strengths. I help my therapy clients rewrite their stories to develop a coherent sense of self in the present-day.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Due to my lived experiences as a queer and autistic person, I recognize the unique intersection of autism with mental health symptoms related to trauma, depression, and anxiety. I believe autism is a natural neurological variation and do not seek a “cure.” Instead, my counseling can help reduce your symptoms of trauma, burnout, depression, and anxiety that frequently so you can can develop an internal sense of safety. Individuals who feel safe inside themselves are more flexible when faced with life’s challenges.
