About My Clients
I love working with adults who: -Have experienced trauma or neglect from their emotionally immature caregiver -Are attempting to break the cycle of generational trauma -Would be considered the “black sheep” of the family -Have been harmed by Christianity/purity culture -Work in a helping profession -Have realized they don’t have the energy to mask any longer
My Background and Approach
The frameworks that I tend to gravitate towards in session are intersectionality, attachment, and Feminist theories. I consider myself somewhat of a psychodynamic therapist because I love to help clients figure out why they are the way they are, and I believe the majority of that stems from childhood. The therapeutic modalities I pull most from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also have extensive training in gender-affirming care and enjoy working with trans and nonbinary folx who need transition support.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker, social justice is deeply important to me, and I consider myself a staunch advocate for marginalized groups. Additionally, I’m committed to doing my own antiracist work and learning from BIPOC people in a personal and professional capacity.
