About My Clients

Avalie Grace has a particular ability to connect with adolescents, a group of individuals who are so often misunderstood. She sees and remembers how important it is to be heard, to be given the space to make mistakes in a safe environment, and to have unconditional support as one navigates the tricky landscape of discovering oneself. Avalie Grace is also proud of her identities as a neurodivergent woman who is part of the LGBTQ+ community.

My Background and Approach

Avalie Grace believes in the idea that each individual is the expert in their own life, so her approach to therapy is to engage in the process on the client's terms. Therapy is meant to be a little uncomfortable at times, so she will gently encourage stepping outside of one's comfort zone, but she makes sure that her clients know they are always the ones in control, navigating their path of healing, which looks different for everyone! She also believes in breaking down the inherent power dynamics between clinician and client, and she does so through taking the time to truly get to know a client, as well as offers more experiential therapeutic approaches, such as incorporating play and creative expression.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Avalie Grace is deeply rooted in her identity and embraces the power it holds. As a bisexual/demisexual autistic woman with ADHD, she champions authenticity and believes in breaking down stigma and fighting oppression through openness and understanding. Actively anti-racist, Avalie Graces's practice is firmly grounded in anti-oppression principles. She celebrates diversity and is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all. A proud advocate for sex-positivity and body-positivity, Avalie Grace, a plus-sized woman, is passionate about empowering individuals to embrace their identities and bodies. Committed to social justice, she regularly participates in protests, attends demonstrations, and advocates for causes such as Black Lives Matter and Free Palestine movements. For Avalie Grace, social justice isn't just a belief—it's a way of life, guiding her practice and her advocacy efforts every day.
