About My Clients
My passion lies in working with those who identify within the LGBTQ+ community, those who are exploring their gender, sexuality/attractionality, those healing from body dysmorphia/internalized fatphobia, and those from all cultural, racial, disability, and socioeconomic identities.
My Background and Approach
My foundation is built on trauma-informed and compassion-focused interventions, with an emphasis on systems impact on our wellbeing. I also weave in appropriate evidence-based practices (i.e. Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Acceptance Commitment, etc.) to tailor my approach to your individual needs. I strongly believe that societal norms and systemic oppression can exacerbate much of the pain you may be experiencing. Therefore, my approach is to identify the root of the pain and empower you to find healing and agency through self-compassion and self-advocacy in our journey together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that living as a marginalized person in an oppressive society is inherently traumatizing. Therefore, centering joy, pleasure, and love as an act of rejection of oppression for Black, Indigenous, people of color, LGBTQIA2S+ folks, refugees and immigrants, disabled and neurodiverse folks, women, and those living in poverty/houselessness has been incredibly healing to those I've worked with. I also believe that advocacy and policy have a huge impact on all of our lives, so when my therapist hat isn't on, my advocacy hat is.
