About My Clients
My clients are adults from many different walks of life, gender identities, and physical and mental health status. Many of my clients are seeking healing from family of origin issues including abuse, neglect, abandonment, and rejection. Those issues quite frequently follow us into our adult relationships in ways that are not always readily apparent. It is also not unusual for clients to experience a low-self concept, depression, and anxiety.
My Background and Approach
I have over two decades of clinical experience working with individuals of all ages who are responding to chronic or terminal illnesses, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation. From 2014-2024, I taught Grief and Bereavement Therapy at the University of Houston and have lectured on this topic throughout the greater Houston area. My approach is collaborative and I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for clients to express feelings openly. Empowerment is a big part of my practice and I work with clients to help them find their voice, their strength, and their power.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has their own identity and way of defining themselves which is unique and precious. I believe each person possesses inner strengths that, when nurtured, encouraged, and affirmed, can lead to healing and improved ability to cope with challenges. I strive to meet each client where they are and seek to build a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and acceptance.
