About My Clients
Sometimes it feels like we get stuck in cycles. Cycles of guilt shame, anger or fear. Sometimes we're stuck in cycles other people started but we have to figure out how to get out of. It may not always feel safe to explore how we got to this place or even how to get out. My job is to help you feel secure enough to bravely explore those spaces and discover your possibilities.
My Background and Approach
I work primarily from a somatic perspective drawing from attachment theory, existentialism and interpersonal neurobiology. I work with you to help you explore how your body may remember what the mind does not and to help integrate your experiences in a way that keeps you securely held. This is not to say therapy wont be challenging, scary or even at times feel overwhelming. We're all human after all and nothing in life is perfectly safe. But therapy can be a secure and strength building place to be brave and bold for yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I incorporate an anti-oppressive lens focusing on the impacts of systemic oppression on marginalized communities. I also focus on uplifting that which makes you unique and different. Approaching your intersectional identities not just from a perspective of oppression but also from a perspective of liberation and celebration. I will not be a blank slate. Instead I offer myself to you authentically and encourage you to do the same.
