About My Clients
Through my practice, I work to serve and empower people who face difficulties due to aspects of their identity that they neither can, nor need, to change, particularly their race, gender, sexuality, and spirituality. I have extensive experience working with queer and/or BIPOC folks, adolescents and young adults, couples of various configurations, those who identify with Islam religiously/culturally, and immigrants and/or refugees and asylum seekers.
My Background and Approach
As the daughter of Senegalese immigrants, I understand the challenges that come with being a first- and second-generation American, particularly when it comes to navigating the waters of gender identity, sexuality, class, and religion. Regardless of your identities, the center of my work lies in the co-creation of a collaborative therapeutic relationship with each client to support and empower each of them to grow and realize their potential. Through a trauma-informed and values-based lens, I believe that therapy can be a powerful tool in the face of life’s challenges, ranging from identity exploration to life transitions to systemic oppression.
