About My Clients
If you are plagued with anxiety, depression, relational conflicts or unresolved family of origin trauma, I am here to support you. Clients who work with me appreciate my compassionate, curious honesty. Insight is a key component to change in therapy, yet the path to change is littered with obstacles both within and outside of our control. With this in mind, I take a pragmatic approach in supporting my clients with a balance of reflection and tool building to overcome impediments to their goals.
My Background and Approach
They say if you give someone a fish, they eat for a day, and if you teach someone how to fish, they eat for a lifetime. I feel that with each client I work with, I am honored to take part in a process during which we to co-create a unique and tailor-made fishing pole.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We often experience our mental health symptoms as unwanted house guests. They get in the way, bore us to tears, overstay their welcome and generally disrupt our sense of peace. While indeed fundamentally disruptive, I like to think of our symptoms as weary travelers--worn down by a difficult road they are often haggard, disgruntled and jaded. Underneath this though, they have wisdom. I find that, if we offer them refuge and list carefully we can learn something before sending them on their way.
