About My Clients
I have specific experience working with individuals who have experienced single-incident traumas, combat/military trauma, religious trauma, identity concerns, and significant life transitions, and I particularly enjoy working with female identified individuals and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The aftermath of trauma can leave us with fear, shame, self-doubt, insomnia, and disconnection from ourselves and others. We cannot erase the past, but you can rise again stronger than ever.
My Background and Approach
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and utilizes evidence-based approaches grounded in a cognitive-behavioral framework (such as Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and relying heavily on Motivational Interviewing). I understand the importance of a strong relationship with your therapist, especially because our experiences of trauma can so profoundly affect our relationships with others. I aim to cultivate a space where you can be (or reclaim!) your authentic self and build a life you are enthusiastic about. I care deeply about serving the LGBTQIA+ community and my practice is inclusive and welcoming to individuals of all sexual orientations and gender identities. I am committed to creating a safe and affirming space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and where your identity is respected and valued.
