About My Clients
I work with women, non-binary folks, and children who experience neurodivergence, including late-diagnosed ADHD and Autism, and when relevant, I acknowledge and work with the ways hormonal fluctuations are impacting one's symptoms. I enjoy supporting individuals struggling with executive functioning, self-esteem, and relational challenges. My therapy is identity-affirming and I offer a shame-free, non-discriminating space to discuss social issues when desired.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from a mindfulness-based clinical counseling program and I use mindfulness throughout my sessions. Often times, you will see this in the way that I tend to you and our relationship. Other times, mindful therapy is invisible and simply informs the way I show up for you as a therapist; with compassion, careful attunement, and curiosity. (Guess we will call it, The 3 C's!) I use evidence-based approaches informed by attachment theory, developmental theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My therapeutic style is relational, meaning I will periodically check in with you about how our client/therapist relationship feels to you so that we can continue doing meaningful work. My therapy is trauma-informed meaning that I prioritize trust, safety, and client-led therapy. I have a down to earth feel, a sense of humor, and I am very passionate about the mental health of my clients. Please reach out with any questions or concerns you have about therapy with me.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Our society consists of systems and structures that are difficult to navigate and thrive in. I believe that many of us with marganalized identities have wondered how others are “doing it” while finding ourselves struggling to keep up and blend in. As a neurodivergent woman, that has been the case for me. I don't believe we need to adapt or acquiesce to oppressive, broken systems. I find great pleasure in normalizing and encouraging the sort of self-care and advocacy that have been paramount to my own well-being. I believe that while we may not directly understand the experience of those who hold different identities from us, the world is a better place when we at least try. Unfortunately, I know that we have a long way to go and that the systems we are up against reinforce oppression day in and day out. I strive to find with my clients, a sense of self-compassion, empowerment, and solution that feels both sustainable and aligned with one's respective values.
