About My Clients
My ideal client values evidence-based, compassionate care that is directive and adaptable. The populations I work best with are young and middle age adults going through major transitions, folks experiencing anxiety/panic, people who are in need of gender affirming care, neurodivergence (especially ADHD/Autism) affirming care, and/or clients who are seeking assistance around preparing for or integrating a psychedelic experience.
My Background and Approach
My practice is rooted in empathy and evidence-based interventions. Drawing on a diverse skill set encompassing ACT, DBT, and CBT modalities, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance by actively listening, validating experiences, and creating a safe, nonjudgemental space. I am active and involved as a therapist and want to ally with you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a White, genderqueer and queer, Irish American psychologist. I was the first in my family to earn a graduate degree. I am in this field because I love people and believe in their innate healing capacities and I aim to cocreate new possibilities for healing and joy with my clients. I am committed to practicing antiracism and decolonization in all aspects of my life. I am open to feedback on the ways I will, despite great intentions, fall short at this. I endorse reparations, land restitution, reproductive freedom, mutual aid, restorative justice, and social service expansion. You do not have to share any of these beliefs to work with me. I hold the dignity, common humanity, and full autonomy of each of my clients as central to my practice philosophy and reject/disrupt outdated, racist, and dogmatic practices within psychology.
