About My Clients
It is an honor to meet you. You may feel that your old ways of doing things are not working for you anymore. You may feel overwhelmed and like you could use a supportive guide in facing life's challenges. You may feel like you have lost parts of yourself that you are looking to reclaim. Or maybe you do not know why you are feeling the things you feel or doing the things you are doing. In our sessions, we can explore all of this and more in a supportive, safe, and authentic environment.
My Background and Approach
I practice evidence-based interventions, including components of mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CBT, ACT, and DBT). But before all of that, I am a human in the therapy room and believe in the power of a warm and compassionate therapeutic relationship.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I specialize in working with individuals with eating disorders or disordered eating that are looking to heal their relationship with food, their bodies, and movement. I am passionate about doing my part in my small corner of the world to imagine a world where people do not hate their bodies, where food is neither glorified nor demonized, and where every person no matter their size is worthy of respect, trusting their body, and equitable healthcare. I have worked in a number of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient medical facilities, university-based counseling clinics, and work with active-duty military.
