About My Clients
I am particularly passionate about working with adolescents and adults who fall on the disordered eating spectrum, endure body shame, and/ or feel unsafe in their bodies due to systems of oppression. I am so excited that you found me here! I am committed to supporting you as you begin your therapy journey. I acknowledge how difficult it can be to be vulnerable in this way, and I feel honored each day to be part of my clients’ healing journey.
My Background and Approach
A session with me will feel warm, affirming, and empowering. I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to understand their inner world more deeply and with compassion. I encourage my clients to challenge themselves and sit with the discomfort that arises, while providing unconditional empathy and support along the way. I practice through a social justice, body liberation, and Health at Every Size (HAES) lens. My clinical approach is primarily rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and I integrate elements of relational-psychodynamic therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well.A session with me will feel warm, affirming, and empowering. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are the expert of you. I believe that recovery is a challenging and ongoing life journey and that health and weight are not mutually exclusive. Through my own therapy, I learned that all bodies are deserving of safety and respect and that everyone is inherently worthy by existing. I believe that all individuals in all bodies deserve to be treated with the same respect and that we must hold oppressive systems responsible for interfering with an individuals ability to connect with their bodies.
