About My Clients
I see clients ages 7 to 70 within my ADHD and Autism Spectrum evaluation practice.
My Background and Approach
I have specialized in mental health assessments since before finishing grad school. I completed my internetship and Fellowship at Fraser and Store Arch Psychology, respectively, where I studying and practice mental health assessment extensively. I find helping people learn more about how their mind works, and the ability to use this information to increase awareness and pride and reduce shame and frustration incredibly satisfying. I have a great deal of training in recommendations based on test results. I offer these to patients to help them draw in their strengths and reduce their difficulties in their day-to-day life. I enjoy conducting testing, and I want my patients and their families to walk away happy, well-informed, and confident about their future.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe all people are good at some things, ok at some things, and not so good at some things. Sometimes the pattern of difficulties we have meet criteria for a diagnosis of ADHD, ASD, or other mental health concerns. I believe our society has come a long way, but that there are still plenty of cases where people can feel shame due to mental illness. I consider it one of my missions to help my clients feel more fulfilled and satisfied in their life and to help them eliminate any sense of shame they may experience. I use testing to help patients understand that there are certain ways their brain works. Just as we would not blame someone if they were color blind for not seeing certain colors or blame someone who has diabetes for not eating certain foods, we all deserve to have respect and understanding for why our brains work the way they do.
