About My Clients
Do you identify as gender or sexually diverse, but come from a background that does not support your identity? Or are you in a relationship and trying to find help for you and your partner, but struggle to find gay, trans, or poly informed providers? I provide relational therapy to kids and teens who need support in connecting with their parents. As well as gender and sexually diverse therapy to couples, throuples, and more.
My Background and Approach
I come from a religious background that was lacking in helping parents love their children despite a difference in perspectives. Too many sexually and gender diverse kids are dying of suicide due to the lack of support in their lives. I understand that choosing between your faith practice and your child is an impossible decision. It is my goal to use my relational therapeutic experience to provide more kids and parents with the support necessary to see, love, and respect each other. Are you in a relationship that has unique dynamics that are not considered in relational therapy research? Are you finding there are no books or articles about your dynamics with your partner? I specialize in a customized relational approach that celebrates relational diversity. I focus on mind/body work, values, and relational mapping in my approach to connecting humans to each other.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Being raised religious, experiencing my own faith crisis - led me to the world of therapy. In this process I learned how deeply important spirituality is to a person's wellbeing. I define spirituality as the way in which you connect with yourself. It is a personal, not collective experience. I find myself exploring this through music, nature, writing, reading, art, and my connections with other humans. I am passionate about food! It is my absolute favorite art form. I love all things K-pop and K drama. I've been known to use Pokemon GO as my preferred GPS tool while hiking in the desert. I love to write in my spare time. I keep up on my blog on my website, but I am also currently writing a fiction series. My partner and I currently host a podcast on Spotify called Love Counseling. Where we share our experiences as well as discuss hot topics in relational therapy. I am a nerd, weirdo, and a misfit and tend to get along swell with those who are as well.
