About My Clients
My clients are amazing people whose life purpose is to evolve into whole and mindful human beings. They come to therapy not only to alleviate pain, anguish, sorrow, and or fear, but to utilize their pain as a motivation to grow and become more resilient within the circumstances they live. They are loving, kind-hearted people, who refuse to be defined by their mistakes or traumatic experiences. They work with me to achieve their goals, and are active participants in recovery.
My Background and Approach
I have been practicing narrative, cognitive behavioral, and interpersonal therapy for 26 years. I have worked with patients of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, and I am an LGBTQ+ ally. Although I can not claim to be a psychoanalyst, I enjoy delving into the human psyche and identifying experiences that shape identity, reframing them to enhance self-esteem and determination, interpersonal skills, and the motivation to embrace a life of clarified values, meaning, and purpose. This is a supervised private practice. It is owned and/or managed by a master's level, non-independent licensee, under Board approved clinical supervision, pursuant to A.A.C. R4-211. The Board approved Clinical Supervisor of this Practice is: Janet Lee O'Conner,Eds, LISAC, LPC 520-360-0007 [email protected]
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Having experienced anxiety, depression, and prolonged complex grief myself, I am grateful for the field of psychotherapy. My education and counseling experiences in this field have transformed my life and personality, empowering me to live a wonderful life. Today, I am married to a supportive equal partner, and I am blessed with loyal and trustworthy family members, friends and colleagues.
