About My Clients
I view connection as a pathway to healing, and view the relationship between therapist and client as a conduit to making peace within yourself. I aim to help you cultivate an internal sense of refuge, that you can bring to all aspects of your life. While the goal of therapy should never be to adjust to oppressive systems, the goal is to adjust enough to be able to make the changes youโd like to see in yourself, your relationships, and the world.
My Background and Approach
I incorporate mindfulness, EMDR, ideas from secular Buddhism, inner child work, somatic approaches, and DBT skills in therapy to address overwhelming thoughts and emotions, to increase nourishing and positive experiences, to investigate themes of authenticity and identity, to explore spirituality, and to support you in improving relationships with others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I seek to understand you as a whole human being, with wellness being a mind-body-spirit-community journey, informed by contexts of identity, class, race, ethnicity, neurodiversity, and life experiences. I believe that interdependence is essential for our survival and thriving, and hope that our relationship can be one such example in your life.
