About My Clients
Patterns that feel normal because it is “just how it’s always been” may actually be contributing to your suffering. Even as independent adults living successful, seemingly satisfying lives, you may find yourself continuing to struggle with anxiety, tension, dissatisfaction, or even feelings of emptiness. Sometimes we realize how much of our life we spend tending to the needs of others, and how little we give to ourselves. If this resonates with you, It might be time for a change.
My Background and Approach
I have focused my practice on providing psychotherapy and counseling to adults from 20 - 90+ years of age. I integrate evidenced-based practices to tailor treatment to the unique, individual needs of each person. I work with complex trauma, codependence, anxiety, and self esteem issues. I also have specialized training and experience with aging issues, life transitions, grief & loss, caregiving, memory disorders, and chronic/ terminal illness. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a vessel for change, and I strive to provide a warm, safe environment that will allow individuals to utilize their strengths, unique capacities, and accountability. At any age, there is a tremendous sense of meaning and power in a person’s story being heard and change being witnessed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe an effective therapist is one who is able to ‘sit in the dark’ with a person who has suffered pain, loss, and hopelessness in all of its manifestations. I have genuine respect for the individual worth of others and deeply value the process of guiding clients toward discovering their own resilience. I believe that a person’s inner strength does not require a fixed set of traits, but rather a willingness to take risks in order to achieve clarity, healing, and growth.
