About My Clients
My passion is to allow my clients the ability to step into a world where they feel their most authentic and recognized. To some this may mean conquering past or current trauma, setting boundaries, and even learning to advocate for one’s self. Whatever this looks like for you is where our work together begins. With this is mind, I approach therapy with the mindset of a partnership that allows space and time for you to learn new strategies for life rather than answers to problems.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy tends to be eclectic with tools from cognitive and behavioral therapies, trauma narratives, reality therapy, and mindfulness exercises. All of these things combined will be utilized to make a therapy experience that is unique for you. Using skills I have developed in different capacities in mental health care I look for ways for you to strive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have with a wide variety of clients and feel I have learned something from all of them and want to continue this learning. I have a background with suicidal assessment and have learned it is not always about wanting to die but rather stopping suffering and I embrace this. I have walked with LGBTQ clients through acceptance of who they are and how they want to show up in the world. I have helped mothers come to terms with empty nest. I have witnessed a person rebuild their life after a brutal divorce. And I have sat with people in grief. However you show up to my office I will be ready to meet you where you are.
