About My Clients
Have you felt like you aren't living your life, merely surviving it? Are you bothered by a feeling of numbness, disconnection, and intrusive traumatic memories? Are you feeling tired, stressed, and anxious? Struggling to cope with chronic illness? If so, thank you for reaching out. As a person-centered and trauma-informed practitioner, I can help provide the tools and environment to bring contentment, balance, and peace to your life.
My Background and Approach
I have six years of experience working with adults and elders on a variety of concerns, including life transitions and stress, traumatic experiences, toxic and abusive relationships, chronic illness and disability, gender, sexuality, anxiety, and depression in community mental health settings. While I work with individuals, there are structural imbalances in our society that contribute to individual problems. For example, rape culture, dealing with patriarchy, white supremacy, colonialism, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism. I believe that these structural problems are relevant to the individual therapeutic experience. As a person-centered practitioner, I believe that recovery is possible and that you know yourself best. I draw from several evidence-based practices to provide individualized treatment to every client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are the expert on your own life and strive to create an environment of unconditional acceptance to allow you to explore what's unbalanced in your life. I am a lifelong activist and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community and have participated in community organizing, planned events, and fought for equity and care for all marginalized folks. I have a passion for holding space for all stories and experiences, from people of all ages and walks of life.
