I work with all ages. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, attachment wounds, religious trauma, sexuality or identity issues, or chronic overwhelm, I support clients in working WITH their bodies - not against them - so that healing can happen from the inside out. I offer body-based, trauma-informed therapy to help you reconnect with yourself, regulate your nervous system, and build the resilience needed to move through life with more ease and self-trust.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed therapist providing telehealth services for residents of Virginia. A proud graduate of Gallaudet University, Ellison provides therapy in both English and American Sign Language (ASL). My experience includes working with Deaf students, homeless populations, and adolescents and families in crisis. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I am passionate about providing services to both youth and adults, specializing in the LGBTQ issues, religious trauma, body-based practices, anxiety, and attachment. My work is centered on helping clients develop self-trust, regulate and repair their nervous systems, and move through life with greater ease. My approach is eclectic but specifically focuses on integrating the mind and body to provide grounding and resilience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe I am here to empower you, not fix you. Your identity and beliefs are crucial to who you are. As a queer, nonbinary therapist with my own history of trauma, I am passionate about using my experiences to fuel my work. There are too few therapist who work with children and teens or who truly understand LGBTQ+ issues. I am also passionate about social justice, antiracism, and equality, especially as a member of a multiracial family.
