About My Clients

Have you struggled to find a therapist that understands your polyamorous or non-monogamous relationship structure? Do you work better with experiential approaches, rather than talking through the situation? Are interested in cultivating your own creative healing practice? If so, we might be a great fit! I am looking for clients who are interested in learning more about themselves, their relationship to the world, and finding meaning in their life experiences through creative processing.

My Background and Approach

I believe in the transformative power of the creative process. What I love about art therapy is that creative expression can look and feel different for each person, and treatment is highly customizable based on the needs and interests of my clients. When my clients are open to it, I incorporate eco-art therapy techniques into session to bring the more-than-human world into the conversation and experience. I believe in a client-led approach to therapy, where we co-create the therapeutic journey together, and I embody this in a clinical style that blends gentle structure with open-endedness to allow for insight to reveal itself in the ‘here-and-now.’ My professional philosophies have grown out of my foundation as an Intentional Peer Support specialist, which holds value in the belief that every person is the expert of their own story. My goal as a professional is to come alongside my clients on their journey, rather than to choose their paths for them.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The foundation of my belief system is autonomy support for all. I believe in structures, ideologies, and ways of life which support the autonomy of all beings. What works for me does not work for everyone, and I believe we all have the right to pursue our unique paths and practices. I stand against beliefs, laws, and structures that serve to inhibit the autonomy of any one or group. As an identified White, neurodivergent, openly queer person, I recognize areas where I retain privilege and where I exist on the borders or margins of oppression. The intersections of my identity provide me with a foundation of empathetic understanding from which I strive to operate when engaged with others. I believe that we are all experts of our own experiences, and I am a lifelong learner. I believe in exploring others’ experiences with genuine curiosity and an openness to feedback. While I strive to represent aspects of these communities, I recognize that I also have blind spots.
