About My Clients
If you have complex childhood trauma and feel stuck in your healing process, my practice is for you. I find working with teens, young adults, and the LGBTQ+ population the most energizing.
My Background and Approach
Traditional talk therapy often fails to get to the root of those deep seated feelings and beliefs about yourself that are associated with your trauma, so I utilize somatic modalities to help you make mind-body connections so that you can become unstuck. As a relational therapist, I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is the strongest tool that can be utilized in therapy. When you’ve experienced trauma, you may find it difficult to connect with others, even your loved ones. Although we exist in a society that promotes independence and self-reliance, it’s important to remember that we are wired to connect with others. We heal in community. As your therapist, I use curiosity, empathy and even humor to develop a safe therapeutic relationship with you so that you may take the skills we use in therapy to your relationships outside of therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a trauma therapist who is also an abolitionist. I recognize the harms and trauma caused by incarceration and institutionalization, and am fighting to see the day in which we dismantle the carceral state and experience true liberation. I believe in collective healing, which is why I place so much emphasis on my clients cultivating relationships and community in my practice of care. I would be absolutely honored to be a part of your healing journey!
