About My Clients
I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ folks, and people in non-normative or non-traditional family/relationship structures. Many of my individual clients struggle with feeling as if they are never good enough, or with overwhelming emotions that are challenging to cope with. People come to me hoping to increase their self-confidence, understand why they feel the way they feel and do the things they do, and achieve greater emotional balance.
My Background and Approach
My style is warm, nonjudgmental, grounded, and collaborative. I am not here to tell you what to do or how to do it; I am here to listen closely, help you see yourself and your life more clearly, and support you in making the changes you want to make. I take an eclectic approach, meaning I draw from a number of different theories and techniques in order to meet your unique needs. My work is most informed by family systems, relational theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and narrative therapies, all of which allow me to see the individual in the context of a complex whole.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am guided by my faith in the capacities of all people to grow and change, and by my firm conviction that relationships are the key to healing. I strive for cultural humility, hold a deep commitment to lifelong learning, and will always center your self-determination in the work that we do together.
