About My Clients
The stories we tell ourselves are very important and often they are stories that others have told us or placed on us. I believe that there is power in taking back our story and living the truth that aligns with the core of who we are. I believe that you as the client are the expert of your life and I get to be a part of empowering you with the tools you need to navigate hardships and struggles.
My Background and Approach
I am a Black, queer therapist in Houston, Texas. I am passionate about the ways that the experiences of our lives impact the way we see ourselves and others. I use a client-centered narrative approach to create a safe, inviting, and culturally sensitive therapeutic relationship. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University and am currently in the process of earning my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in Virginia. I plan to graduate in August 2024.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It’s important to me to create a space that is safe for all marginalized communities. I am committed to being culturally informed and sensitive to the ways that marginalization impacts different aspects of life. I am committed to creating a safe space for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women of color, and queer couples with many different issues including racial, religious, attachment, and interpersonal trauma. In my free time, I enjoy reading, going to concerts, hanging out with friends, trying new restaurants, traveling, getting tattoos, and taking care of my plant babies.
