About My Clients

Do you feel stuck in patterns or ways of living that just aren't serving you? Are you caught in the same relationship cycles and you can't seem to break out? Are you wanting a safe space to explore questions of gender, sexuality, and identity without being judged or pathologized? I offer a non-judgmental, compassionate approach that is informed by a nuanced understanding of LGBTQ+ issues. I bring warmth and curiosity that invites you to become curious about yourself too.

My Background and Approach

I approach my work from a place of curiosity and compassion. This is a space for you to be heard, understood, and valued. It's also a place for us to get curious together, and explore the aspects of yourself that you'd like to deepen your understanding of. I understand that we all carry wounds from our relationships with the people in our lives. I focus on building trust slowly and patiently. I hope to make the therapeutic relationship a site where you can experience a connection that feels safe and consistent. As a clinical social worker, an analysis of systems of power informs every aspect of my work. While our work will be focused on you as an individual, I will also be considering the ways that oppression and societal norms impact your relationship to yourself and others. Note: I am only offering online sessions at this time.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My work is deeply rooted in values of anti-oppression work. I believe that healing is an integral part of individual and collective liberation. I am a non-binary, transgender person who strongly values being a part of queer community. From this position, I bring a nuanced perspective on the challenges LGBTQ+ individuals may experience. I am also a white clinician who is focused on the lifelong work of unlearning racism. I approach my work with self-reflexivity and cultural humility. It is important to me that I create space with my clients to discuss the ways that power dynamics impact our ability to connect and work together. These conversations will always be centered on the needs of the client, and in service of offering more authentic connection. I also value harm reduction and prison abolition. We are all capable of growth, and we all deserve healing.
