About My Clients
We might be a good match if you are exploring your identity and want to live more authentically, if you want a safe space to feel or increase your tolerance for big emotions, if you want to unpack religious trauma, or if you want to better understand how attachment affects you, your relationships, and your body.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and non-judgmental acceptance, and is built on the practice of deep listening. Establishing a trusting relationship with my clients is my first priority; to me, that’s when the magic of therapy comes: when you feel safe enough to drop your defenses, be truly seen, and be accepted. I’m passionate about assisting folks with identity development including examining beliefs and values, exploring gender identity, or the pursuit of re-discovery after realizing that you’ve become separated from who you truly are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a queer trans man and am proud to be a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Over the past several years I have deconstructed my original belief system and developed a new set of values and beliefs. I discovered my gender identity and took the transition steps that aligned my body and my gender expression with my inner identity. Through this I found a level of inner peace that I never thought possible, and I’m passionate about helping others do the same. I believe that none of us are free until all of us are free. The fight for bodily autonomy and dignity for all is intersectional, and requires us to show up for each other in both advocacy for systemic change and in mutual aid and care. At the same time, my privilege as a white person causes blind spots for me, so I aim to practice cultural humility when working with clients with different identities from my own.
