About My Clients

There's a lot of talk about "survival mode" and being "stuck". Many of us are moving, often, between these two extremes. Many of us are surviving or trying to get unstuck from our bodies, our jobs, our families, coming out, life transitions, gender transitions, a relationship in a tough spot, loss, identity exploration, or coming from a place of certainty to find ourselves in these life challenges. I believe, fully, there there is so much life after survival and helping clients thrive.

My Background and Approach

I have experience working with people impacted by: relationship challenges, identity issues, gender transition, masculinity challenges, college transitions, chronic illness, ASD, anxiety, sobriety/harm reduction, sex work, and mood. I have worked with: transitional-aged youth and children, couples, college students, queer and trans folks, and men. My approach is client-centered (what works for you), relational (how you connect and feel connected to others), and integrative (draws on various techniques). I especially support clients in exploring and identifying unhelpful patterns and behaviors, establishing boundaries, and creating space for and navigating choices to develop a sense of security in their lives. Outside of my graduate education, I am a Certified Geek Therapist. I also have training or certifications in the following areas: Trauma-Focused CBT, various trainings related to trauma, play therapies, art therapies, and Transgender Health Standards of Care.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in and practice anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and body positive clinical treatment. I am a sex-positive, believe that sex work is real work, and that children/teens are self-autonomous humans. I believe in work that centers the ability for clients to access freedom and joy. I believe in helping clients access play and humor in their life and in therapy.
