About My Clients
I specialize in trauma work and anxiety treatment. Although I welcome people from all identities and walks of life, I do have special experience working with fellow members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I also love working with self-identified "people pleasers", eldest daughters, those who struggle with boundaries and survivors of abuse. I see you, and I will provide a safe and empowering place for you to heal and give yourself what you already provide for others.
My Background and Approach
I know it can feel intimidating to search for a new therapist. That's why I do my best to make therapy the highlight of your week, and as low-pressure as possible. I specialize in SE (Somatic Experiencing), which is an approach to trauma-informed therapy that helps you ease into the body with safety. It's great for beginners to therapy, as well as longtime therapy-goers who feel stuck in traditional talk therapy and want to access a new, deeper part of the work. I believe that therapy is at its best when it’s an open and inviting process, and one of my favorite aspects of SE is its collaborative nature. I value your agency and hope to walk with you on your therapeutic journey while empowering you to make the best decisions for yourself. Along the way I can ensure your safety, and I promise to hold your pain with you without bias or judgment. I can help you build greater awareness, both around your emotional experiences and somatic (body) experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is capable of healing, and it is never too late to start your journey in therapy. We can all benefit from having a safe space to work through complex, sometimes overwhelming, emotions. The feelings that accompany trauma can be especially difficult to process, and it can make all the difference to have someone holding your hand as you face the experiences you might be avoiding. Additionally, I am extremely passionate about my work within the LGBTQIA+ community. As a queer woman, I understand the unique lack of safety and respect that we face right now, and I welcome open discussion about sex and sexuality. Finally, I am a strong believer in animal rights and I welcome the company of ESA pets in session. Our animals have the power to heal and regulate us!
