About My Clients

I often work with folks who are about to start or are now taking a path of great resistance -- overachievers, strivers, hustlers, perfectionists, and people working towards a big goal or idea; people living with chronic health issues; members of LGBTQ+ communities; healers and healthcare workers; activists; advocates; creative individuals, and people searching for greater meaning in their lives. You may be struggling with disillusionment and self-doubt--but you know you can't turn back now.

My Background and Approach

Over the years, I have worked with many people who were reasonably wary of engaging in care either because of the field's history with their communities, or because they had directly experienced marginalization or trauma in the context of care. Whether you have experienced something like this or not, I work with you to create a space of emotional safety, transparency, openness, respect, collaboration, and choice - which is part of a "trauma-informed" approach to therapy. This also means that your life experience and your goals come first, rather than using a regimented or one-size-fits all style. The level of structure or the presence of "homework" is likewise based on your needs and preferences, but my style combines helping you tap into your own capacity for insight, self-awareness, and transformation along with supportive tools and practices that can support your day-to-day life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Some fun facts about me: I am a queer, non-binary person who has been an active participant, volunteer, and organizer within my community for many years. I enjoy creative practices, time in nature, meditation, and learning. Before I went to social work grad school, I spent several years working in research and was an assistant session guide (ie -trip sitter, and meditation support instructor) for psilocybin and spirituality studies at Johns Hopkins. I dedicate time each week to provide coordination support to Psychedelic Survivors, a group for individuals who have experienced abuse in the context of psychedelic therapy or shamanic ceremony - as supporting survivors, social justice, harm-reductionism, ethics, and ethics in psychedelics are all important to me.
