About My Clients
We could be well matched for psychotherapeutic collaboration if you're seeking a provider whose style leans collaborative/directive, educational, and resourceful in nature. You can read more about my style and most frequently utilized modalities on my website, as linked on this profile page.
My Background and Approach
Since 2007, I have been actively working in mental health and social services. I have held a postgraduate independent license to practice clinical psychotherapy since 2019, and established my private psychotherapy practice shortly thereafter. While living in the Pacific Northwest, I completed a Master's Degree in clinical mental health counseling, with an additional focus in social justice, as well as addictions. Much of my pre-Master's studies centered clinical psychology, intersectional feminism, and women's social-emotional health. I am committed to growing my craft through ongoing trainings, courses, and relevant intensives. Most notably, I completed EMDR training through an EMDRIA accredited institute. I have since practiced, received, and observed the significant benefits this modality offers.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I practice with awareness that much of what westernized healthcare defines as pathological, is actually rooted in the harmful workings of a flawed collective. When many of the most commonly engaged with systems restrict access to essential resources, the risk of being irresponsibly categorized by a licensed medical provider greatly increases. Illness-centered models of care often fail to account for the fact that many service seekers are often experiencing a stress response proportionate to the circumstances at hand. If applicable, all diagnostic considerations in my practice will be collaborative, and consensual.
