About My Clients
Having lived experience as a queer social worker, I know how hard it is to find therapists who work with LGBTQ+ people on purpose and with intention, rather than as a passing happenstance. The majority of my caseload is comprised of LGBTQ+ folks. Nothing is off limits, so while I regularly help clients work through depression, anxiety, and trauma, we also freely discuss other topics that people often don’t have a place to address, including: sex, faith, and the impact of diet culture.
My Background and Approach
I am an integrative talk therapist. This means that I don’t use just one style of therapy and am often able to adapt to a client’s needs. While I spend lots of time listening, my clients describe my approach as conversational. We discuss what’s going on in your life together, and I make observations and ask questions to help guide our work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a queer therapist and work from a social justice perspective. I regularly work with clients around issues of systemic oppression in its many forms.
