About My Clients
I love working with folks who have experienced trauma, particularly religious and spiritual trauma. I have special training, LGBTQ+ populations, and intellectual giftedness. I love working with other therapists who are doing their own work, and enjoy doing consultations on religious trauma, helping gifted kiddos cope, and integrating sexuality and Christianity.
My Background and Approach
I work with individuals who are struggling with the gap between the lives they're living and the lives they want. I also offer consultations for parents who need help understanding how best to work with their children who are gifted and/or LGBTQ+. I have training in trauma therapy and EMDR, LGBTQ+ issues in adults and adolescents, play therapy, and spiritual integration in therapy in addition to the general training required of therapists who have completed their Master's programs. Please note: I am independently licensed in Pennsylvania and Georgia. In Florida, I have the telehealth endorsement to provide services.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone should be respected for who they are as well as who they are becoming. I volunteer within my faith denomination as one who is trained as both a therapist and a theologian (I have a master's degree and a doctorate in theology). In addition, I read Greek and Hebrew, which can be helpful for clients whose Christian backgrounds preclude them from full acceptance of their sexuality and gender identity. I'm a parent, cat lover, band nerd, Cincinnati Reds fan, and overall geek who is really passionate about helping you reach your goals.
