About My Clients
I provide virtual Trauma-Informed therapy to adults from diverse backgrounds. As a result of our shared experience, I work with many BIPOC, first generation American, Latinx/Hispanic, and Asian clients. I support people experiencing and coping with: Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Substance Use Challenges, Trauma/C-PTSD, Relationship Challenges, Life transitions, and clients exploring spirituality and/or their intersectional identities (BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ Affirming).
My Background and Approach
My goal is to create a safe, affirming space for you to explore who you are and what you want out of your life. I believe that building a strong and supportive relationship with my clients is the first and most important step in our journey together. I hope that with my gentle guidance and support, you can begin to heal from your life’s challenges and achieve a greater state of well-being. I would be honored to witness your growth and provide guidance along your path. My approach is person-centered, relational-cultural, strengths-based, and holistic, to meet your unique needs. Our work will be rooted in attachment theory, somatic modalities, and neuroscience. The evidenced-based therapeutic interventions we will use most include, but are not limited to, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been a life-long social justice advocate, work to de-colonize therapy, and aim to provide anti-oppressive and culturally affirming care. Experiencing discrimination, racism, and gender-based trauma at an early age, I began advocacy work in Jr. HS and have since participated in state legislative hearings and various movements such as Occupy, BLM, and Women's Marches. I continue to advocate for DREAMers, Undocumented Immigrants, Refugees, and survivors of DV/IPV. As an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, I facilitated a weekly trans-femme support group and advocated on behalf of folx on their transition journey by providing HRT letters and Gender Marker/Name Change Letters. I have also provided therapy for people living with HIV/AIDS and their loved ones. As a charter HS social worker, I created and facilitated the first Genders & Sexualities Alliance group, advocated for non-gendered bathrooms on campus, organized Pride weeks, and IPV prevention events and support groups.
