My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Psychologist and have been in practice since 2005. In my work, I strive to be empathic, compassion, encouraging and challenging, assisting clients in making significant life changes. I pride myself in being a strong listener who will work to understand you and respond without judgment. I have been meditating for almost twenty years and my ongoing practice supports my therapeutic work with clients. I am a trained Mindfulness facilitator and really enjoy offering Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) groups. In 2024, I trained in Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness and bring this orientation to both group and individual therapy. My license is applicable in most states across the country.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been passionate about social justice issues since a teenager, leading me to prioritize multicultural competence training during my training in psychology. I have been involved in research and restorative justice efforts with marginalized populations. My approach to therapy incorporates an acknowledgement of culture and its impact on mental health. I am trained as an affirmative therapist and bring a Health at Every Size/Body Positive to my work with clients.
