About My Clients
Janna works with a variety of individuals, couples, and families. A member of the queer community herself, she feels honored to work with LGBT/queer/trans individuals and couples. She is kink/BDSM competent and supportive, and well-versed in the joys and challenges of polyamory and open relationships.
My Background and Approach
Janna's therapy practice is trauma-informed and rooted in understanding each individual's specific and unique context and experiences. This helps her to join with her clients to work together and understand what keeps them stuck in tired old patterns at a pace that works for them. As a couple & family therapist, she will work systemically-- always thinking about how people affect and influence one another. Janna has also received training in the Gottman method of couples therapy and is IFS-informed in her practice. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson University’s Couple & Family Therapy Program, Janna focused on couple dynamics, grief and trauma, and identity and challenges for bicultural and first-generation young adults. Prior to her career as a therapist, Janna worked in several social justice movements and has an M.S. in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania as well as a B.A. in Political Science and Gender/Sexuality Studies from Haverford College.
