About My Clients
Have you spent most of your life feeling like you're not enough? Filled with paralyzing anxiety, overwhelming sadness, or even never-ended numbness that you won't be able to meet the lofty expectations of others? Feeling like you are one small inconvenience away from completely losing it? If you are a person of color who is struggling to balance multiple identities or just looking for someone to "get you" without all the assumptions of what you "should" do, I am here to help.
My Background and Approach
As a first generation American child of Indian immigrants, I was in a constant battle between my Indian and American cultures. This fueled my passion to help others in similar situations as me to figure out who they truly are, without all the extra pressure of cultural/societal expectations. I have several years of experience in the counseling field throughout different levels of care (ranging from inpatient all the way down to private practice) and specializations (such as EMDR, eating disorders, and trauma work) that I use to help me identify someone's therapeutic needs in a holistic manner.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Mental health is just as important as physical health. I believe everyone deserves a chance at discovering who they truly are and what makes them happy, even if it's not "the norm". I aim to help others like me find their own peace while normalizing and de-stigmatizing mental health across cultures. Whether you identify as queer, emo, POC, or a combination of anything and everything in between - I want to create a space for you to feel less alone and live more authentically in every little identity that makes you you.
