About My Clients
Your interest in how you became who you are, both the parts you cherish & the painful parts you can barely talk about, can fuel growth. It is not uncommon to struggle to remember aspects of yourself that you love when you are overwhelmed by difficult experiences. You may find yourself repeating patterns that you return to despite vowing not to. Seeing things you don't like about yourself, you may resort to self-criticism. You may need a thought-partner to sort through difficulty.
My Background and Approach
Working on something that is painful or where you feel stuck can be facilitated by a clinical relationship. Relief from self-doubt and self-judgement is not a simple endeavor. Our work together is about acknowledgement and change: both within yourself & in the life you construct for yourself. You may be suffering from something that seems like it shouldn't be the obstacle it has become. You may be going through a loss, job change, relationship challenge or end, infertility, mid-life re-assessment, divorce, financial instability, feeling targeted or any number of crises. In response to pain you may act out or become immobilized. In California I studied psychodynamic psychotherapy at The Psychotherapy Institute. My previous practice in New York and Connecticut included individual, family & group therapy and was CBT based. My clinical degree is from Smith College School for Social Work after getting an undergraduate degree in physics from Harvard University.
