About My Clients
I tend to work with folks who are queer and think they may be autistic. It is very hard to get a diagnosis as an AFAB (assigned female at birth) human for a multitude of reasons. I support folks in understanding themselves, as well as how to possibly navigate the world a little easier. I also work with other therapists and educators interested in understanding autism and queer identity and how they intersect. Please let me know if you are interested in education.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in the autism and queer communities for over ten years. I have my own experience of navigating the intersection of both identities, and have a list of resources that may help you as well. However, what works for me may not work for you. As we say, "When you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism." It is my goal to support your journey alongside you and be present as you figure out what is best for you. I enjoy supporting parents, partners, and friends about autism and queerness, as well as educating therapists about their clients. There is not one way to work with me. I recently have opened my own private practice, and am starting a local community center in my home town. Please reach out if you would like more information and to connect with me. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am Jewish, autistic, and queer. I openly talk about this in my work with clients and colleagues. I feel it is important to be open about my identities as my existence is political. I am not a blank canvas, but a human with my own journey and perspectives. I believe that the world was not created for neurodivergent folks. I do therapy a little bit differently and tend to be more direct and loving. There are many different types of therapists, and I always encourage folks to try a few of us before deciding whom is the best fit!
