About My Clients
Finding the right therapist can feel like a struggle—I get it. If you’re looking for a queer therapist who brings humor into the process (and, let’s be honest, probably swears a little too much), we might be a great fit. My approach to therapy is collaborative, meaning we’ll work together to tackle the challenges that brought you here, in a way that feels supportive, authentic, and even a little fun at times. Let’s navigate this journey together.
My Background and Approach
I believe that a strong and safe therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth and healing. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as we navigate the challenges that brought you to therapy. Because no two people are the same, I tailor my approach to fit your unique needs and experiences. I pull from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing. However, at the core of my work, I am a person-centered therapist. This means that you, your story, and your personal journey are always at the heart of our work together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I entered this field with a deep passion for helping people, and I’ve been fortunate to do this work for nearly 20 years (fully licensed since 2017). Every day, I am in awe of my clients—their courage, resilience, and willingness to show up for themselves, even in the face of adversity. It is truly an honor when someone trusts me enough to lean into vulnerability and allow me to be part of their journey. As a queer, neurospicy, cisgender woman, I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to my practice. I’ve been “on the couch” myself and understand firsthand how challenging and rewarding the therapy process can be. You don’t have to navigate this alone—I’m here to support you with empathy, authenticity, and maybe even a little humor along the way. Let’s take this journey together.
