About My Clients
I work with clients who have experienced trauma including developmental relational trauma as well as those struggling with transitions or loss. I strive for my practice to be a safe, non-judgemental place for you to begin to heal wounds and build deeper compassion for your self. I help clients to get to know their internal system and how our parts interact with each other and within our nervous system.
My Background and Approach
I utilize Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory in Therapy and EMDR as key tools for understanding your system and healing wounds. I also have training in Developmental and Relational Trauma Therapy, Attachment Based Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The Nurtured Heart Approach and mindfulness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Close to a decade ago, I made a life changing decision to leave a corporate job, return to school and become a social worker/therapist. My choice to pursue social work and not another degree was deliberate due to the values set forth by the profession and how they aligned with my personal beliefs. I am a fierce advocate for social justice and truly believe in the importance of human relationships, particularly in the therapeutic relationship. I am also working to decolonize my practice to be increasingly liberation focused.
