My Background and Approach
In my early work, I've been trained as a generalist treating adolescents with concerns of depression, anxiety and history of traumatic experience. I've worked closely with their parents to address concerns with parenting and connecting with their kids. Youth I've worked with were in the child welfare system or in the juvenile justice system. In private practice, my specialty involves addressing concerns with sex and/or sexuality. Specific concerns include: gender identity, sexual functioning/dysfunctioning, erectile dysfunction, performance anxiety, exploring sexuality, prioritizing sexuality, and concerns with sex in a relationship. Although I'm a sex therapist in training, I am confident in working with you as I'm supported through supervision/consultation. My approach to therapy is compassionate and eclectic, as I pull interventions from various therapeutic models. Expect to be heard, not told what to do, but also challenged. Thanks for reading.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe there is always room for changes and adjustments to live a more fulfilled life. Our past experiences inform our daily lives, whether they are detrimental or beneficial. As an adult, I struggled with depression, anxiety and concerns with sex and sexuality. Through therapy and other means, I've learn more about myself and how to navigate difficult situations, which has allowed me to thrive in my relationships with others. I believe you are capable of making adjustments or feel relieved of having a safe space to address something sensitive, so you can thrive as well. I'd love to be part of your journey of liberating yourself from what ever may be holding you back. Other than therapy stuff, I love the sport of wrestling. I've competed in highs school and been part of a wrestling club in college where I got to compete in dual meets/tournaments against other college athletes. I've enjoyed being a volunteer high school wrestling coach and hope i can continue doing that.
