About My Clients
I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples and families.
My Background and Approach
I employ a diverse therapeutic approach blending psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and humanistic methodologies to tailor my support for individuals based on their unique mental health needs and specific concerns. Drawing from my background as a Chinese American woman and my former involvement in social justice education, I possess a deep understanding of how societal structures can influence both internal and external conflicts. I recognize the profound effects of current and historical trauma on shaping our identities and fostering a sense of belonging. With over five decades of life experience, I bring a wealth of wisdom and insight to my client interactions. This extensive background enables me to connect empathetically with clients while assisting them in recognizing their inherent strengths. I empower individuals to harness these strengths, facilitating their journey toward healing and personal growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It has always been important to me that I work in a profession where I am able to help people, which is what being a therapist allows me to do. I have been in therapy on and off for many years and appreciate and respect the therapists who have helped me in the development of my mental health. They inspired me to go back to school to become a psychotherapist so I am able to do the same with others.
