About My Clients
While there are no issues too small to bring into therapy, you have led a lifetime before today and in time we can begin to understand how your previous experiences shape your current struggles. Whether you are coping with a major life change, or finally ready to get a hold on a problem you have been dealing with for a while, we can work together to put language to the emotions you're feeling and develop the awareness that will help you cope and heal.
My Background and Approach
I have worked extensively with individuals navigating separation, divorce, and harmful relationships, as well as a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, childhood sexual abuse, immigration, and other life transitions. I use psychodynamic therapy as the basis for treatment, but am constantly learning and pulling from new schools of thought. I also operate with a systems perspective, interrogating how forces of oppression and communities shape ourselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I practice with an anti-oppressive lens, meaning it is important to me to understand the societal pressures that have impacted you before today, and will make space in therapy to discuss it if you feel ready to do so. I also believe that everyone is capable of change and growth no matter what you have been through. You are the expert on your life, and I am merely here to guide you through your process.
