About My Clients
I primarily work with LGBTQ+ families and couples who are looking to address challenges in their relationships and and to improve their understanding of one another. I have worked with clients with a variety of backgrounds and diagnoses and I utilize trauma-informed practices so as to ensure that the therapy space is safe for whatever a person may be bringing with them.
My Background and Approach
I completed my graduate program at Boston College, and I hold extensive clinical experience in residential and community-based settings serving youth and families. In addition to a variety of trainings on trauma, restorative justice, and LGBTQ+ care, I have also completed an 8-month Intensive Family Systems Training which focused on facilitating family and couples therapy with a relatable, practical, and transtheoretical approach. These trainings, the knowledge and wisdom I have gotten from past clients and families & my own life experiences, have helped me to create an affirming, direct, and client-centered space in which to work together. If you are interested in working together, I would love to share more in an initial consultation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I deeply believe in the healing power of therapy and community. My work and personal life values are centered around relationships with each other, with ourselves, and the systems that impact us. I work to increase my knowledge and awareness of my own privileges that play a role in both sessions and my personal relationships. I also take experience from my own challenges in navigating my queer identities in various spaces.
