My Background and Approach
My training background includes a Master's degree in Social Work (Family-Centred Practice and Family Therapy) and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from accredited institutions in both Hong Kong and the United States. I have also completed an APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship at a university counseling center serving a diverse student body. During my training, I was a member of the sexual trauma treatment team, multilingual therapy team, and diversity, equity, and inclusion committee. My primary therapy approach integrates interpersonal, feminist, compassion-focused, psychodynamic, and acceptance and commitment (ACT) therapies. I believe in intersectionality and root my work in decolonizing psychology and liberation. My presence in the “therapy room” is warm and caring, with a dash of a dark sense of humour. I am collaborative and appreciate your feedback on the therapeutic process.
