About My Clients
Are you struggling with the transition to motherhood, identity issues, unhelpful relationship patterns, perfectionism and not feeling good enough?I have extensive experience helping women across the lifespan navigate major transitions and break unhelpful cycles in their relationships with others and themselves. I have expertise in the areas of perinatal mental health, trauma, attachment and parenting, culturally inclusive interventions, racial identity development, and transracial adoption.
My Background and Approach
I am a certified perinatal mental health provider and parenting facilitator. I have a trauma-focused integrative approach and work with a variety of evidence-based interventions such as DBT, mindfulness, EMDR, CBT, interpersonal psychotherapy, and relational therapy. I worked for over a decade as the supervisor psychologist on the women’s inpatient psychiatric and perinatal unit and served as thetherapeutic programming leader and team leader for development of its standard Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) program. I graduated from Tufts University where I received my B.S. in Clinical Psychology and completed my graduate training and Clinical Psychology Ph.D. at the New School for Social Research. I completed the post-graduate training program through Adelphi’s Institute for Parenting in Parent and Infant Mental Health with a focus on attachment, trauma, and child-parent psychotherapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value the impact of past and early life experiences as well as larger intergenerational, cultural, and societal forces that impact us. I work hard to balance acceptance and change, helping you to understand how you make sense given your past and current circumstances and simultaneously that you want things to change. With curiosity and compassion, my hope is that you feel more connected, heard, and less alone. I work under the assumption that you have a strong intuitive self that knows how to heal with the proper space and support. Please reach out if you are ready to connect, find relief, and establish a fuller more centered life.
