About My Clients
I specialize in working with neurodiverse couples, including couples in which one partner has Asperger's Syndrome, an Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, or identifies as highly sensitive or neurodivergent. Many of my clients find that it can be challenging to navigate relationships, work, and social situations. I work to help individuals and couples better understand their unique strengths and challenges, so they can live happier and healthier lives.
My Background and Approach
I work with adults who identify as autistic, introverted, highly sensitive, gifted, and/or neurodiverse. I am a firm believer in utilizing "evidence based practices" in psychotherapy, meaning that I use the latest research-based strategies in formulating my work with clients. I draw from a wide range of theories and practices, in order to accommodate each client's unique needs. My approach to therapy is informed by relational psychotherapy, attachment theory, mindfulness practices, neuroscience, and family systems theory. I bring compassion, warmth, humor and honesty to my work, and enjoy collaborating with clients. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and Women's Studies from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. I have an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I view my role of therapist as a collaborator, joining together with my clients to uncover insight, patterns, and a path towards change. I work with clients' strengths, helping people understand their own thoughts and feelings, develop satisfying and healthy lives and relationships, and find new ways to deal with problems. I believe we all have an innate power to feel better.
