About My Clients

Have you reached a point where life no longer feels workable? You might feel overwhelmed by stress, filled with dread, or unable to find connection, joy, and a sense of purpose in your life. Maybe you’re stuck in the pain of your past or uncertainty about your future. You withdraw into numbness or despair, caught in patterns that you can’t seem to break and unable to fully connect with the people and the world around you. Your anxious thoughts or behaviors exhaust you. I can help.

My Background and Approach

As a therapist, I focus on creating a safe and accepting space for clients to approach their problems with curiosity and optimism. I want to empower you to manage your pain, tell more helpful stories about yourself, heal from your trauma, and find resilience and purpose in your life. I am experienced in treating depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and a range of other mental health concerns. I am trained in cognitive behavioral techniques, which I frequently draw from in my work with clients. As a therapist, I also integrate techniques from ACT, DBT, ego state, and person-centered therapies, as well as taking an existential perspective on clients’ problems when appropriate. I work with adults, college students, and adolescents 14 and up. I am a climate-aware therapist and can address climate anxiety and grief in therapy. I offer virtual and in-person sessions, and can schedule a free consultation for new clients.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that there is no one right answer to the problem of being human, and that my role is to help you find your best answers. I work to build and maintain my cultural competence and ability to work effectively with clients of all backgrounds, and for me the most important element of this effort is humility. You are the expert on yourself and your experiences. I strive to listen and to correct myself when I’m wrong. I am open to understanding your experience in the context of systemic oppressions. Bodhi Counseling is committed to the values of diversity, equality, inclusion, and justice. I am interested in confronting the impacts of global climate change and environmental degradation on mental health, and I am a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America. I am interested in the ways that activists and others can build resilience and find ways to live and act meaningfully despite the uncertainty and loss of climate change.
