About My Clients
I primarily work with folks who are a part of the LGBTQ+ community or have loved ones that are part of this community. I have experience working with people going through life transitions; struggling within their relationships; or navigating anxiety, depression, and suicidality. I also have experience working from an informed consent model with trans and gender nonconforming folks who are undergoing medical transitions.
My Background and Approach
I am a disabled, neurodivergent, nonbinary, queer, thin, and white therapist. I share these identities because I believe they directly impact the way I interact with others, consciously or unconsciously. I believe that providing anyone with effective services starts with my personal education, so I have completed many training sessions on providing affirming care. I am a sex-positive, polyamory-affirming, and kink-informed therapist. I draw from an eclectic knowledge base that includes queer theory, disability justice frameworks, anti-racism, intersectionality, and radical body love. From a more clinical lens, I pull from attachment theory and systems theory; my therapy approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based. It includes a combination of many techniques, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am actively involved in changing the oppressive systems we interact within, since I can see how directly they impact our mental health and overall wellbeing. I love to have conversations about my beliefs and am always expanding my understanding of the world around me. I want therapy to be as accessible for folks as possible, so I do offer a limited number of sliding scale and probono spots.
